Our schedule is typically Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Reservations are available for spring, fall, and winter riding.

We have friendly horses and experienced guides, eager to provide a memorable experience. Please wear long pants, and sturdy shoes or boots with heels. All trail rides are guided in small groups. Riders must be a minimum of 7 years of age, and meet our size, strength, and balance requirements.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your ride. Reservations are suggested for daily rides, and walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability. 24-hour notice is required if you are unable to use a reservation. Helmets are required for riders under 18 years of age. Riders under 18 years of age must register at the stables with a parent or guardian. Black Butte Stables is open to the general public. Due to varying trail conditions, rides may be slightly shorter, or longer than the listed times. We make every attempt to avoid problems on the trail, but if something unforeseen happens, we reserve the right to modify the trail ride as needed. Black Butte Stables is an equal opportunity recreation provider, under Special Use Permit, issued by the US Forest Service, Sisters Ranger District.
